Arif Habib Limited (AHL) has posted Rs 195.672 million profit after tax in the half year ended December 31, 2009, as compared to a net loss of Rs 59.059 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2008. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Thursday declared that the company's per share earning has increased to Rs 5.22 in the period under review against per share loss of Rs 1.57 in the same period a year back.

According to the financial results, the company's operating revenue declined to Rs 66.348 million in this period against Rs 282.808 million. The company registered net gain on sale of investment of Rs 122.653 million in this period against net loss of Rs 100.785 million in the same account. The company's profit before tax was recorded at Rs 200.763 million in the six months period in 2009 against before tax loss of Rs 51.639 million in the same period in 2008.
